Abstract

Additive manufacturing of low-carbon cementitious composites is becoming increasingly important in the construction sector, offering two-dimensional sustainability from both materials and technology standpoints. To address the pressing demand to lessen the negative consequences of the construction sector on the environment, it is essential to identify eco-friendly substitutes for traditional binders and natural aggregates. This involves exploring alternative binders and aggregates derived from industrial by-products, low-quality minerals, and end-of-life materials. This chapter provides essential information on alternative resources which have the potential to create low-carbon cementitious composites suitable for three-dimensional printing applications.
