Abstract

Major climatic shifts and delicate heating effects have given rise to CO2 emissions in the environment at a global level. This is due to the manufacture of cement and other greenhouse gases (GHG). Numerous studies are being done to find alternatives to cement as a means of preventing or reducing this release of GHG. One of the newer construction methods, three-dimensional concrete printing (3DCP), uses more cement for both the binding process and to attain mechanical qualities. The objective of this paper is to provide an overview of the preferences of supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) and to suggest alccofine-1203 as a partial substitute for cement in the process of 3DCP. Alccofine-1203, one of the SCMs, contains ultra-fine particles with a unique chemical composition that improved cement hydration and pozzolanic activity. In this research finding, cement is partially replaced with alccofine-1203 with various proportions like 2%,4%,6%,8% & 10%. Substituting alccofine-1203, resulted in good workability and showed vital results for slump cone and flowability tests at 6%. Alccofine-1203 replaced mortar cubes performed better than the conventional mortar cubes in terms of mechanical properties because of the presence of calcium and silica in alccofine-1203.
