Abstract
The building structure is the most material-intensive component of construction. Optimization can reducematerial consumption and overall structural weight. Therefore, designing structures with a focus on structural performance is essential. The benefits of 3D concrete printing, such as increased design versatility and reduced material consumption, facilitate the adoption of performancebased design in construction. However, constraints persist between components designed for high structural performance and their construction, and a holistic approach to integrating design generation with construction remains lacking. This paper reviews recent construction cases, examines the constraints affecting the constructability of structural high-performance components, and proposes a set of process methods for their design and construction, these methods provide a foundation for expanding the buildability range of these components.
