Abstract
By using 3D printing with concrete, productivity on the construction site can be increased enormously, the entire construction process optimized and at the same time geometric freedom can be achieved without additional costs. However, before concrete 3D printing can be widely used, a number of issues relating to the durability and serviceability of printed concrete elements need to be researched. In this article, the problems of deformation and cracking in printed concrete elements due to plastic shrinkage are examined. In addition, suitable measurement methods for the quantification of restrained and unrestrained plastic shrinkage of printed concrete are presented.
