Abstract
In the world of automation, additive manufacturing, or three-dimensional printing (3D), is becoming increasingly important. Over the years, geopolymer is established as one of the promising materials offering techno-environmental benefits. This study explores the special printing requirements, performance characteristics of geopolymers, with an emphasis on the optimization of printing performance and the impact of additives. The paper provided insights into the achieving more reliable geopolymer by the optimum choice of raw precursor and additives for improved printing performance. The interaction of printing parameters, printing speed, open time and buildability on the hardened properties of 3D-printed geopolymer is investigated. The dualities to be considered in developing a clean 3D-printed geopolymer blend, are examined. This knowledge can lead to a better choice of low-carbon raw precursors and optimized geopolymeric formulations, ultimately expanding the possibilities and applications of 3D-printed structures in various industries.
